Wool Felt Central: Saturday Sampler 2014 - Sew and Tell

Thanks for visiting to learn more about our Saturday Sampler 2014 Series. Our project this year is a 12 block sampler designed by owner, Julie Geiger, exclusively for Prairie Point Junction.

We've shown the quilt is two colorways to inspire you. Isn't it amazing how different the quilts look just due to the color choices? You are certainly welcome to choose your own fabrics as well as you sew along with us.

For our local customers, we offer a program on the 2nd Saturday of each month at 10:00. Stop by to see Barb and Julie demonstrate tips and tricks for sewing the block and show off the newest products in the shop. Best of all, you'll get a chance to hang out with other quilters to learn and share even more! We encourage you to bring show-and-tell to our sessions. We learn so much from each other.

Want to sew with us? Here's a general supply list to get you started. The list gives options for lap, twin, queen, and king sizes. The fabric requirements are very generous, but this will allow you to mix and match your own color variation and experiment with the techniques. You should be able to print the supply list if you right-click on the image and save it to your computer. Then you can use your photo-printing or publishing type software to print the page at the full 8 1/2" x 11" size. Can't get that to work? This year we're trying something brand new to take advantage of all the wonderful social media opportunities that keep popping up. It's almost like having an old-fashioned, high-tech, virtual quilting bee!

Julie photographed each block step-by-step as she sewed. She'll be sharing her tutorials on the blog for each block. The current month's block will be posted on the 2nd Saturday of the month through the rest of the year. Due to in-the-shop scheduling, some month's we'll tackle two blocks to keep us on track and finish all the blocks by December.
